Bringing Cândido Portinari's Collection to the Digital World

The Portal Portinari was developed to provide broad access to the complete collection of Cândido Portinari's artwork in an engaging and interactive way. It also serves as the official communication channel for Projeto Portinari, an institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the artist's legacy.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
With over 50,000 cataloged items, one of the main challenges was creating an intuitive and engaging interface that allowed users to explore and research Portinari’s work effortlessly.
To achieve this, I helped design an interactive live mosaic and dynamic infographics that visually represent the relationships between artworks, themes, and historical context. Advanced search fields and filters were also implemented to ensure precise access to the database.
IMPACT
Portal Portinari was widely celebrated and gained significant attention from major media outlets in Brazil. The intuitive design allowed both art enthusiasts and researchers to navigate and engage deeply with Portinari’s vast collection.

I took part in this project as main Web Designer, teaming with an Art Director and developers. I provided:
- User Experience & Interface Design. Developed an intuitive and visually compelling digital experience that showcases Portinari’s vast collection.
- Data Visualization. Designed dynamic infographics that highlight connections between artworks, historical periods, and themes.
- Search & Navigation System. Created advanced search filters and an interactive browsing system to facilitate research and exploration.
